9’1” NSP Pro 9 - Shapers Union CSE - Clear - Futures (4+1 fin setup)
MODEL OVERVIEW:
The NSP Pro-9 is designed by Carl Schaper as a performance longboard, and it is the most high-performance longboard in the NSP lineup.
Construction:
Consider Custom Surf Epoxy (CSE) the most performance-oriented construction NSP offers, with carbon elements and a 6mm wood stringer.
The Nature Flex version of the Pro-9 comes without carbon elements and is considered the more eco-friendly version of the Pro-9, while the Elements version features the most durable construction in the lineup with wide, fiberglass stringers and NSP’s precise- and ultra-durable Elements moulding technology.
Bottom: Soft roll to mid-V to V to double concave
Rider: Intermediate – pro
Wave Type: All conditions
Shape:
The Pro-9 is a longboard with as much shortboard crammed into it as possible. Carl Schaper will often point out the back-third of the board, as it fits almost perfectly on his 6’2 step up, with the same thickness, tail dimensions, and rails. The bottom has a soft roll to V in the middle, running into V with a double concave in the tail.
Designed as a single-fin or quad-fin set-up, the Pro-9 is a low-volume, extremely high-performance longboard, capable of doing it all with tons of maneuvering and solid nose-riding. The most significant tweak we added recently is in the Pro-9’s nose-riding capability.
Fin Setup:
The Pro-9 comes in a 4+1 fin configuration enabling you to be creative in your setup as a quad, thruster or single fin. NSP placed the Surf 10 fin box slightly further back, creating an ideal configuration for a thruster setup. The board comes with FTU fin boxes, making it compatible with Futures® Fins (fins not included).

Pro-9 construction
The Pro-9 CSE benefits from a custom surf epoxy lay-up with a clear UV-stable resin and satin rub finish and combined with a CNC-cut EPS core. This is all laminated with a full 220g biaxial 4oz deck and 6oz bottom, 4oz patches around the fin boxes, a 6mm wood stringer, bottom carbon stringer, and carbon-reinforced tail.
Think of CSE as a lighter, more performance-oriented version of the Pro-9, compared to its Nature Flex version, with the Pro-9 Elements being the most durable version of the lineup.
Once the carbon, stringer and layups are put together, these components exceed the sum of its parts, creating a durable high-performance longboard with great flex and a light and responsive feel.
